Lamore Sture Salmonson, 81 of Roseau, Minnesota passed away June 23, 2025.
He was born on November 30, 1943 to Sture and Lilly Salmonson. Lamore proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years, stationed in France and Germany before being honorably discharged. Following his service, Lamore built a career in construction. Most of those years, as a foreman for Adjustable Joist. A man of many words. A man with many friends. Lamore walked tall with a big smile; giving warm handshakes and hugs to all those he visited. He was a champion for nicknames; maybe because he had two: Lucky and Swede. It seemed every other friend and family member had one – thanks to Lamore!

Lamore enjoyed participating in hockey, golf, broomball, curling, trap shooting, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching most sports. He was prideful of his farmland and the great care of the crops by his friend, Laverne Voll. Friends and family visits were his favorite passion. Those visits always warmed his heart. Another of Lamore’s passions was cars. He absolutely loved cars! Muscle cars, sports cars, classic cruisers, high roller sedans, historical treasures and more. He walked fast, talked fast and drove his cars even faster. Hopefully, Heaven has a racetrack!

In 1965 he married Diane Jenson. He and Diane had three children: Jim Sorensen, Chaess Anders and Jessica Bordun. In 1978 he married Cheryl Haines. He and Cheryl had a daughter, April Kautzman.

Lamore is preceded in death by his father Sture, mother Lilly, stepfather Gunnar and sisters, Marjorie and Donna. Lamore is survived by his stepbrother Leroy (Dolores) Falk, stepbrother Louie (Patty) Falk, Shirley Monkman, sons Jim (Dana) Sorensen, Chaess (Kim) Anders, Daughters Jessica (Gene) Bordun and April Kautzman, grandchildren Garrett Sorensen, Brennan Bordun, Kieran Anders, Anthony Nash, Michael Kautzman, Payton Kautzman, great grandchild, Cody Nash, nephews Lee Falk, Chet Falk, Jeff Falk, Jeremy Falk, nieces Rachael Hugg, Suzi Monkman, Patty Evans, great niece April Hugg and many cousins. He will be looking forward to heavenly visits with his family and friends; while providing wholesome nicknames.

A funeral service for Lamore will be held on Monday, June 30th at 3PM at the Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
