A Memorial Service for Debra will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2025 at 11:00AM at Warroad RiverPlace with a visitation one hour prior.
Debra Lynn Ehrenstrom, lovingly known as Rhoda, passed away in Warroad, Minnesota, at the Warroad Senior Living Center, surrounded by family. She was born on February 11, 1954, in Thief River Falls to Morris and Betty (Bergland) Roadfeldt. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Stanton Beck Ehrenstrom on September 21, 1974.
Rhoda was a talented seamstress who poured her heart into everything she made. Whether she was quilting coats and bonnets for her label, Sew Crazy Originals, or working late into the night on alterations, her care and craftsmanship were evident in every stitch. In 1995, she opened Rhoda’s Closet. More than a business, it was a gathering place where customers turned into friends. A member of the Warroad Chamber of Commerce, Rhoda was a supporter of local businesses and her community.
At home, Rhoda loved digging in her gardens, caring for her goldfish pond, and taking cruises to Earl’s in her red Mustang. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at the Roseau County Fair, spontaneous casino trips, and Warroad’s Fourth of July festivities. She was grateful for get-togethers with the girls from the class of ‘72 and treasured travel adventures with her best friend, Sherry Hunt, and sister-in-law Stacy.
She was a proud mom to the Ehrenstrom girls, encouraging each of them to follow their own paths and cheering them on through both successes and challenges. Known for her generous spirit, she was always ready to lend a hand. Later in life, she poured that same love into her role as Grandma by spoiling her six grandsons and delighting in finally getting to talk about “the boys.”
Our mom’s long battle with Alzheimer’s is now finished. She is at peace, no longer burdened by a disease that slowly took her from the life she knew. She has been reunited with her mother, where the gardens are always beautiful, no sequin goes unstitched, and no hem is ever left undone.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Warroad Senior Living Center, who cared for Rhoda over the past four years. Thank you for loving “Miss Deb” like family and for treating her with such compassion, patience, and dignity.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Morris Roadfeldt; her brother, Roger Roadfeldt; her father-in-law, Elwood Ehrenstrom; and her beloved dog, Sadie.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Stanton Ehrenstrom; daughters Jen (Darian) Wesolowski of Maple Falls, WA; Sindy (Kent) Larson of East Grand Forks, MN; and Christine (Chris) Dougherty of Warroad, MN; and her six grandsons: Alexander Wesolowski; Thor and Joe Beck Larson; and Parker, Grady, and Turner Dougherty. Also survived by her Irish twin, Jeff (Cindy) Roadfeldt of Warroad, MN, and in-laws Shirley Ehrenstrom, Kent (Janet) Ehrenstrom, Stacy (Bruce) Wilmer, and many nieces and nephews.
