A quiet day in the sports world yesterday, but looking ahead… Roseau boys hockey is on the road at St. Michael–Albertville, while Roseau boys basketball hosts Menahga. In girls basketball, Menahga is also at Roseau. On the mats, Roseau wrestling competes in a quadrangular at Blackduck–Cass Lake with Deer River and Crosby-Ironton.

Tomorrow, Roseau boys hockey travels to face St. Cloud Crush, and Roseau girls hockey is home hosting Brainerd–Little Falls. Roseau boys basketball welcomes Wadena–Deer Creek on Saturday as well.

Warroad boys basketball hosts Wadena–Deer Creek. On Saturday, Warroad boys basketball is home against Menahga, while Warroad girls basketball also hosts Menahga for a double basketball night in Warroad.

The World Junior Championship moves into the knockout stage today with a full slate of quarterfinal games as teams battle for a spot in the medal round. Action gets underway this afternoon with Germany facing Denmark, followed by Sweden taking on Latvia. Later today, Czechia meets Switzerland, before the evening showcases two marquee matchups — the United States against Finland, and Canada squaring off with Slovakia. All five games today are win-or-go-home, as the race for World Junior gold officially begins.

In the professional world Minnesota Wild are on the road taking on the Anaheim Ducks tonight at the Honda Center in Anaheim and the Minnesota Timberwolves will at Miami tomorrow.
