Glen Frederick Kloempken, 76, of Roseau, MN, passed away at the Warroad Senior Living Center on May 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Glen was born to Harold and Edna (Gustafson) Kloempken on July 23, 1948, in Minneapolis, MN. From the hospital nursery, he went to his first home in Hutchinson, MN, and in the fall of 1949, Glen moved with his parents to Karlstad, MN. He grew up in Karlstad with three sisters: Carol, Jan and Sandy, and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1966. Glen continued his education at the University of Minnesota Crookston, graduating with a degree in Business, in 1968.
Glen began his professional career at Polaris Industries in 1969, where he worked until 1981. In April of 1981, he joined Marvin Windows, serving in the XL Department and the Wood Processing Department until his retirement in 2019. During his dedicated service at Marvin Windows, Glen was recognized as Employee of the Month.
It was at Marvin Windows where Glen met the love of his life, Kristine Nikunen, in the summer of 1982. They were married on December 18, 1982, at Roseau Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN, and shared over 40 years of marriage together. The most important part of their lives didn’t start until they had their two children, Paul in October of 1986 and Sally in April of 1991. Glen was a loving and amazing dad to Paul and Sally!
Glen was a man of faith and service, attending Roseau Free Lutheran Church (now known as Lighthouse Church), where he faithfully served as treasurer for over 20 years. He found joy in spending time with his wife and family, going on vacations, volunteering at church, and cheering on his beloved Minnesota sports teams.
