A Celebration of Life for John M. Wilson of Roseau, MN will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the Roseau Event Center in Roseau.

John Mark Wilson was born in Greenbush, MN on September 25, 1953, to James and Gertrude Wilson. He attended Roseau Elementary & High School, graduating in 1971.

He held many positions throughout his life. He worked for farmers in the area, doing everything from direct labor to managing the Salol elevator. John also worked for a long time at Jensen Seed and Wool, assisting the trappers and other customers. John spent many years bartending at Lee’s Place before eventually purchasing and owning the bar under the name Bottoms Up. After selling the bar, he enjoyed his final years working at Coast Tru Value in Roseau, supporting and conversing with the customers on everything from home improvement to their hunting & fishing needs.

John had three children, Amanda, James and Erik, and was the proud grandpa of two grandchildren, Leland and Ivy. John was a man who enjoyed the outdoors. He was always interested in hearing people’s hunting and fishing stories. He enjoyed gardening, as well as berry and mushroom picking. John greatly enjoyed his time at the WHO camp with his best friends, Rodney Olson and Rick Holland, where they spent many years improving the land, the cabin and hunting deer.

John was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Gertrude. He is survived by his children, Amanda (Darrin) Wilson, James (Paige) Wilson, and Erik Wilson, and grandchildren Ivy and Leland.
