THE CITY OF EAST GRAND FORKS CONTINUED TO UPDATE IT’S CANNABIS ORDINANCE TO ALIGN WITH STATE LAW. THEY WOULD NOW BE ALLOWED TO OFFER A CANNABIS REGISTRATION TO A BUSINESS WITH ONLY PRELIMINARY LICENSE APPROVAL FROM THE STATE. POLK COUNTY, WITH A POPULATION OF 31,000, HAS TO OFFER AT LEAST THREE CANNABIS LICENSES IN THE COUNTY. THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR SOME CLARIFICATION ON WHETHER THE CITY HAS TO ALLOW TWO, EVEN IF ENOUGH TO FILL THE COUNTY’S QUOTA ARE OPENED ELSEWHERE.
AS WE LOOK AHEAD TO NEXT MONTH’S ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR, YOU’LL NOTICE ONE CHANGE IN THE GRANDSTAND LINEUP FROM WHAT HAS BEEN THERE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. A WEDNESDAY NIGHT RODEO IS BEING REPLACED BY A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING EVENT.
DIVAS THROUGH THE DECADES WILL MAKE A RETURN TO THE ROSEAU RIVERVIEW PARK GAZEBO FOR THIS THURSDAY’S CONCERT BEGINNING AT 6:30. THOSE CONCERTS ARE FREE. THE ROSEAU ALS FUNDRAISING TEAM WILL BE SERVING THE MEAL THIS WEEK, SERVING UP CHILI DOGS.
A Memorial Service for Mary L. Kjersten of Badger, MN will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00AM at Oiland Lutheran Church in rural Greenbush. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 5-7PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau with a prayer service at 7PM, visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mary passed away at the age of 68.
Ordean “Dean” Wojciechowski, age 82, of Greenbush, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 10AM to 12PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Greenbush community center.
Interment services will be held at the Badger city cemetery at a later date.
Mary Jesme, 83 of Roseau passed away on June 16th at the Roseau Manor Care Center. A funeral will be held at the Bethesda Lutheran Church on June 25th at 11:00AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
A Memorial Service for Ray Green of Warroad, MN will be held Saturday, June 21, 3:00 PM, at Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment at Riverside Cemetery in Warroad.
Ray passed away at the age of 97.
