A PRISONER THAT HAD ESCAPED CUSTODY WAS ONCE AGAIN APPREHENDED IN LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY YESTERDAY. HE WAS PREVIOUSLY IN CUSTODY IN GRAND FORKS. HE HAD LAWSUITS AGAINST THE CITY OF GRAND FORKS POLICE DEPARTMENT IN 2021 FOR CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS THAT WERE DISMISSED. WHAT TRANSPIRED AHEAD OF THIS ARREST WAS NOT MADE AVAILABLE.
THE MINNEOSTA DNR IS SAYING THAT FISHING TRAFFIC ACROSS NORTHERN MINNESOTA IS UP SO FAR THIS YEAR, BUT SUCCESS CAN STILL BE SPOTTY AND STREAKY.

THEY HEARD FROM ELEMENTARY PRINICIPAL MR.LINGEN LOOKING AT ELEMENTARY STUDENT BEHAVIOR REPORTS AND HOW THINGS IMPROVED, OR NOT, AFTER INTERVENTION. OF THE SIX STUDENT EXAMPLES, THEY SAW FOUR DECREASES IN REFERRALS, ONE SMALL INCREASE AND ONE LARGER INCREASE.
THEY LOOKED AT INFORMATION ON POTENTIAL OPERATING REFERENDUMS IN THE AMOUNT OF $800, $900, $1000 PER PUPIL.
Gerald Burkel, age 85, of Greenbush, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at LifeCare Medical Center in Greenbush.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush.
Visitation will be held after 5PM, Monday, at the church with a prayer service at 7PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment services will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery of rural Greenbush following services.
Jesse Olson of Frazee, formerly of Roseau, passed away in late May at the age of 42. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 18th at 3:00 PM at the Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.
A Memorial Service for Mary L. Kjersten of Badger, MN will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00AM at Oiland Lutheran Church in rural Greenbush. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 5-7PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau with a prayer service at 7PM, visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mary passed away at the age of 68.
Ordean “Dean” Wojciechowski, age 82, of Greenbush, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 10AM to 12PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Greenbush community center.
Interment services will be held at the Badger city cemetery at a later date.
Mary Jesme, 83 of Roseau passed away on June 16th at the Roseau Manor Care Center. A funeral will be held at the Bethesda Lutheran Church on June 25th at 11:00AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
A Memorial Service for Ray Green of Warroad, MN will be held Saturday, June 21, 3:00 PM, at Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment at Riverside Cemetery in Warroad.
Ray passed away at the age of 97.
