THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE FOUR SEASONS SENIOR CENTER WILL BE HELD ON TOMORROW AT 10 AM. THEY’LL DISCUSS BUSINESS FROM THE PAST YEAR AND LOOK TO WHAT IS IN STORE FOR 2023. ALL MEMBERS ARE URGED TO ATTEND.

THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ON FRIDAY ORDERED ALL SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO CREATE A PLAN TO PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH THE SAME MEALS REGARDLESS OF THEIR LUNCH DEBT STATUS. ATTORNEY GENERAL KEITH ELLISON WROTE AN OPINION THAT FURTHER CLARIFIED A STATE LAW BANNING “SHAMING” OF STUDENTS WHO CANNOT AFFORD MEALS. EARLIER THIS YEAR IT WAS FOUND IN A SURVEY THAT 125 OF 330 MINNESOTA DISTRICTS HAD SUCH PLANS TO SERVE ALTERNATIVE MEALS.

THE MINNESOTA NURSES ASSOCIATION WILL VOTE ON A SECOND STRIKE AUTHORIZATION LATER THIS MONTH. THE ASSOCIATION PREVIOUSLY WENT ON A 3-DAY STRIKE IN SEPTEMBER, BUT THAT HAS LEAD TO NO PROGRESS IN THEIR CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS.

AS THANKSGIVING PASSES, SANTA CLAUS WILL BEGIN MAKING HIS ROUNDS LOCALLY. A WANNASKA COMMUNITY CENTER SANTA CLAUS NIGHT IS DECEMBER 2 FROM 5-7 PM, WITH SLEIGH RIDES, GAMES, AND A COMMUNITY SUPPER.
ROSEAU’S SUPER SANTA SATURDAY IS DECEMBER 3.

THE CITY OF ROSEAU IS ONCE AGAIN HOLDING A CHRISTMAS LIGHTING CONTEST, WITH BOTH A RESIDENTIAL AND BUSINESS CONTEST, WITH PRIZES FOR MOST FESTIVE RESIDENTIAL AND MOST TRADITIONAL RESIDENTIAL, AND A MOST MERRY AND BRIGHT FOR BUSINESS. THERE ARE MONETARY PRIZES FOR FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD PLACE. REGISTER AT EITHER BORDER OR CITIZENS STAT BANK.
