The Roseau Times-Region this week highlighted a unique opportunity to get married this Valentine’s Day. District Court Judge Michael Grover will be offering free wedding ceremonies at the Roseau County Courthouse this Friday, February 13, starting at 1:30 in the afternoon. Couples simply need to have a marriage license. Judge Grover can provide the vows for a traditional ceremony, or couples may write their own. Necessary witnesses can be courthouse personnel, though couples are also welcome to bring their own witnesses, family, and friends. Interested couples can call 463-2541 to register.
Roseau Community Development Coordinator Todd Peterson told the City Council he is expecting delivery of the structure for the pedestrian bridge across the Roseau River to arrive next month. The walking bridge will be located at 3rd Avenue Northeast, north of Highway 11, near the site of the former dam. Mayor Dan Fabian said last week they are hoping a fishing pier and other elements can be added to that area, and he expects it to be a welcome addition. He also noted that more than one million dollars in grant funding has been secured for improvements at the city park this year.
