Tony Wayne Dahl, 51, of Perham, Minnesota, formerly of Roseau, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 20, 2026.
Tony was born on December 26, 1974, in Roseau, Minnesota, to Jeffrey Dahl and Sonia (Olson) Dahl. He was baptized into the Christian faith and later confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church. Tony spent his childhood growing up in northern Minnesota, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors, a strong work ethic, and a love for adventure. He attended school in Grygla and graduated from Grygla High School with the Class of 1993.
After graduation, Tony entered the construction industry, where he quickly earned a reputation as a dependable and hardworking young man. Feeling called to serve his country, he enlisted in the United States Army and later continued his service in the Army National Guard. He took great pride in his military service, and the values of discipline, loyalty, and commitment remained with him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Tony returned home to northern Minnesota and went to work at Polaris Industries. Never afraid of hard work or new opportunities, he later earned his Commercial Driver’s License and spent many years driving truck. He enjoyed the independence of the open road before eventually returning to factory work later in life.
On August 20, 2005, Tony married Amanda (Castle) Olson in Roseau, Minnesota. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Alexandra and Amy, who became the center of his world. No matter where life led him, his love for his girls never changed. He was incredibly proud of the women they became and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, encouraging them, supporting them, and creating lasting memories together.
Tony had a passion for motorcycles that lasted throughout his adult life. Riding wasn’t simply a hobby—it was something that brought him peace, excitement, and lifelong friendships. He enjoyed attending motorcycle events and riding whenever he had the chance. Over the years, he earned numerous motorcycle plaques and trophies that reflected both his enthusiasm and dedication to the sport. Among his favorite rides were those shared with his daughter, Alex, creating memories together that she will cherish forever.
In addition to motorcycles, Tony loved spending time outdoors and appreciated the simple pleasures in life. Whether he was enjoying nature, spending time with family and friends, or lending a helping hand whenever someone needed it, he was happiest when surrounded by the people he cared about. Those who knew Tony remember him as hardworking, loyal, caring, and someone who quietly showed his love through his actions more than his words.
Later in life, Tony experienced one of his greatest joys when he became “Papa” to his beloved granddaughter, Amara. She held a special place in his heart, and becoming a grandfather brought him immeasurable happiness. He treasured every smile, every visit, and every moment they spent together. His love for Amara was evident to everyone around him.
Tony is survived by his daughters, Alexandra (Caden Olds) Dahl of Roseau and Amy (Easton Nelson) Dahl of Roseau; his beloved granddaughter, Amara; his sister, Mandy Fuller of Roseau; his nieces, Hailey Dahl and Cheyenne Fuller; his nephew, Caden Goodin; his great-nephew, Samuel Detweiler; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeffrey Dahl and Sonia (Olson) Dahl; his brother, Timmy Dahl; his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Rachel Olson; his paternal grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Wade Vertina and his family for the friendship, love, kindness, and unwavering support they shared with Tony and his family over the years. Their compassion and generosity will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of Tony’s family and friends.
Tony will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, adventurous spirit, proud military service, and lifelong love of motorcycles and the outdoors. More than anything, he will be remembered as a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a caring brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. His greatest accomplishments were never measured by trophies or miles traveled, but by the love he gave his family and the memories he created with those closest to him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, kindness, and quiet determination will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In honor of Tony’s lifelong passion for motorcycles, the family warmly invites anyone who owns a motorcycle to ride it to the service.
A Memorial Service for Tony Dahl will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, Minnesota. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
