THE OVERTONES

Country – Old Time Rock – Southern Gospel

The Overtones quartet, out of Roseau, Minnesota, has been singing together for over 30 years.  Their harmonies and blend have been compared to The Statler Brothers and The Oak Ridge Boys.

The Overtones first gig, over 30 years ago, was at Greenbush Sheep Days, where they sang “Bill Grogan’s Goat.  They did a lot of Barbershop type music at first, but have expanded their repitore to include music of The Statler Brothers, Oakridge Boys, Gaither Vocal Band, Statesmen, Country, Everly Brothers, Louis Armstrong, Neal Sedeka, BJ Thomas, 50’s & 60’s music as well as many old favorite songs that all enjoy.

They have sung in many locations across Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, doing County Fairs, Church services, sung at the Chester Fritz several times, and have been regular performers at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron for the past three years; also this year, during the Labor Day Holiday, where they do three concerts a day—Saturday, Sunday, and Monday– as well as many other types of celebrations.

The group is made up of Keith Sandland, baritone, who is a building contractor and wood processor. Randy Holwell, lead, is a former owner of a Concrete business.  Neil Vagle, tenor, is a retired teacher. Dale Billberg, bass, is a semi-retired farmer, hauls gravel and black dirt, and anything else that can be hauled.

During performances, it is easy to see that The Overtones enjoy singing together, and many times the audience is invited to sing along on the familiar songs that all enjoy.  Come and enjoy some good easy listening music.

Enjoy an evening of outdoor entertainment with concert nights at the Gazebo.  Bring your lawn chair and join us on the banks of the Roseau River.
