High Speed Chase in Roseau after caught Shoplifting

The Roseau County Sheriff Release information regarding a high speed chase that occurred on 10-22- 2020 at approximately 2:01pm.

The incident started with the Roseau Police Department investigating a shoplifting case involving a suspect that allegedly stole items out of a local clothing store in the city of Roseau. The suspect, 24 year old Aaron Daniel Nelson, of Brooten Minnesota, fled recklessly in a pickup truck at a high rate of speed through the city and continued East through rural Roseau County.

The chase ended approximately six miles South East of Roseau with the suspect exiting the vehicle fleeing on foot with officers apprehending him shortly after.

Nelson was brought to the LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau by ambulance for a suspected heavy illegal drug use.

Officers learned that the suspects truck was reported stolen out of the St. Cloud area approximately one week before this date.

Agencies involved in the incident included the U.S Border Patrol., Minnesota State Patrol , Roseau County Sheriffs Office, Roseau Police Department and the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force.
