MINNESOTA REPUBLICANS HAVE SENT A LETTER TO GOVERNOR TIM WALZ VOICING CONCERNS OVER THE DFL’S EFFORT TO MAKE MINNESOTA A SANCTUARY STATE. THAT PROHIBITS LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT FROM COOPERATING WITH FEDERAL IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AND BANS STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FROM ENFORCING CIVIL IMMIGRATION LAWS. THE LETTER CALLED THE POLICIES “COSTLY AND DANGEROUS”.

ANOTHER SCOTCH DOUBLES POOL TOURNAMENT WILL BENEFIT THE ROSEAU-PENNINGTON COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY AND THE ROSEAU COUNTY FOOD SHELF. THIS TOURNAMENT IS MARCH 2 AT SKIPPY FINN’S IN BADGER AND SPONSORED BY THE ROSEAU EAGLES AERIE AND AUXILIARY.

THE ROSEAU MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORE HAS SOME INTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED, WITH WORK STARTING THIS WEEKEND AND WILL LAST INTO NEXT WEEK. THE STORE IS OPEN REGULAR HOURS THROUGH SATURDAY, BUT WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE ENTIREITY OF THE DAY ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY.

NORTHWEST ANGLE EDGERIDERS HAVE THEIR SNOW RALLY TOMORROW AT JERRY’S RESTAURANT AT THE ANGLE. THEY’VE ADDED A LIVE BAND TO THE EVENT FOR TOMORROW EVENING. THE DAY BEGINS AT 11:00.

Funeral Service for John M. Douglas of Roseau, MN will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Pinecreek Cemetery in Roseau.
John passed away at the age of 81.

PEOPLE ARE REMINDED BY CONSERVATION OFFICERS THAT JUST BECAUSE SNOWMOBILE TRAILS ARE NOT BEING MAINTAINED OR USED, THAT IT IS STILL ILLEGAL TO OPERATE ATV’S ON DESIGNATED SNOWMOBILE TRAILS.
