THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT IN SPRAGUE, MANITOBA IS HAVING A SPRING FLING SOCIAL FUNDRAISER ON MARCH 18TH, WITH A DANCE, 50/50 RAFFLE, AUCTIONS, AND A CASH BAR. THE FIREFIGHTERS WILL BE DESIGNATED DRIVERS FOR THE NIGHT. TICKETS FOR THE EVENT AT THE SPRAGUE COMMUNITY CENTER ARE $10 EACH.

IN TOTAL, THERE ARE SEVEN NAMES THAT WILL APPEAR ON THE PRIMARY BALLOT WHEN IT COMES TO THE SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL THE DISTRICT 4 ROSEAU COUNTY COMMISSIONER SEAT. THE FILING DEADLINE PASSED LAST WEEK. THOSE WHO FILED ARE BRETT CREGER, KYLE COLE, RICK JENSON, KERMIT JENSEN, GERALD LANDBY, TIM PALMQUIST, AND MIKE TESAREK.

JUST ABOUT A MONTH AGO, LIFECARE WARROAD WELLNESS OPENED IT’S DOORS, WITH REHAB SERVICES OPEN FOR BUSINESS. SOON AFTER THEY WOULD BEGIN SEEING PATIENTS IN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, AND ARE AWAITING THE FINAL TOUCHES TO A FITNESS CENTER. THAT WAS A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT THAT BEGAN LAST APRIL.

SUPPORTED BY THE GREENBUSH-BADGER LIONS, THERE ARE CPR CLASSES OFFERED THIS WEEKEND AT THE GREENBUSH FIRE HALL. TO SEE IF SPACE REMAINS, AND TO REGISTER, CALL DON AT 218-689-7438. THERE IS A $20 COST, OR $40 COST IF CERTIFICATION IS DESIRED.

A ROSEAU COUNTY GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP WILL BEGIN MEETING ON MONDAY EVENINGS AT THE ROSEAU EVANGELICAL COVENANT CHURCH ON APRIL 3. THEY’LL MEET WEEKLY THOUGH JUNE, BREAK FOR LATE SUMMER, AND START UP AGAIN IN THE FALL. IT IS OPEN TO EVERYONE. TO REGISTER, CALL 218-463-3420.

ROSEAU POLICE WERE DISPATCHED TO A ROSEAU RESIDENCE EARLY LAST WEEK ON REPORTS OF GUNSHOTS. WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THE DISCOVERED AN ADULT MALE DECEASED FROM A SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND. POLICE CHIEF MARC HODGE SAYS THIS IS A FAMILY MATTER AND AN OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE WILL NOTE BE MADE BY THE DEPARTMENT.
