A PLEA AGREEMENT HAS BEEN REACHED FOR A ST. HILAIRE MAN, IN CONNECTION WITH THE OVERDOSE DEATH OF HIS FIANCEE. 31-YEAR OLD ANTHONY JOSEPH DRURY WAS CHARGED WITH THIRD DEGREE MURDER AND FOURTH DEGREE DRUG SALE LAST DECEMBER. HE ORIGINALLY PLEADED NOT GUILTY TO BOTH, BUT HAS CHANGED HIS PLEA FOR THE MURDER CHARGE TO GUILTY. THERE’S THE POSSIBLE PENALTY OF 25 YEARS IN PRISON. SENTENCING IS SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 17. ON DECEMBER 2 OF 2021, OFFICERS FOUND MICHAELA ROSE CONSTANCE COOPER DEAD IN THE COUPLES BEDROOM. DRURY TOLD OFFICERS THE COUPLE HAD RELAPSED AFTER A WEEK OF NO DRUGE USE. DRURY ALSO SAID HE HAD BOUGHT THE FENTALYL PILLS FROM 24-YEAR OLD JAMES MICHAEL MORIN, WHO WAS EVENTUALLY CONVICTED OF THIRD DEGREE MURDER.
