THE MINNESOTA DEER FARMERS ASSOCIATION HAS FILE A FEDERAL LAWSUIT AGAINST THE STATE, CLAIMING A NEW LAW IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. THEY CLAIM THE LAWS MAIN PURPOSE IS PUT THEIR INDUSTRY OUT OF BUSINESS AND CLAIM IN VIOLATES CLAUSES WITH THE 5TH AND 14TH AMENDMENTS. THE LAW LIMITS HOW DEER CAN BE MOVED INTO AND AROUND THE STATE, AND ALSO PROHIBITS NEW FARMS FROM BEING LICENSED. ACCORDING TO THE DNR, THERE ARE NOW 125 SUCH FARMS IN THE STATE WITH OVER 3,300 DEER.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY AUDITOR’S OFFICE HAS ABSENTEE BALLOTS AVAILABLE FOR THE MARCH 5, 2024 PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION PRIMARY ELECTION. THOSE ARE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO VOTE IN PERSON.
