THE CANADIAN PACIFIC HOLIDAY TRAIN WILL BE MAKING STOPS THIS WEEK IN PLUMMER AND THIEF RIVER FALLS ON THURSDAY. THE TRAIN IS DECORATED WITH CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND EACH STOPS FEATURES A MUSICAL PERFORMANCE, BUT IT’S ALSO A MEANINGFUL EVENT FOR FOOD SHELVES. THEY ASK THOSE WHO ARE ABLE TO DONATE EITHER MONEY OR ITEMS TO AREA FOOD SHELVES AND CANADIAN PACIFIC MAKES A SIZABLE DONATION. IN 2019 FOR EXAMPLE, OVER $6000 AND OVER 1400 POUNDS OF FOOD WERE DONATED TO THE FOOD SHELVES IN THOSE TWO COMMUNITIES.

EVERYONE IS WATCHING THE WINTER STORM EXPECTED TO ROLL ACROSS THE REGION TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY. AREA REPORTS SAY WIDESPREAD AREAS OF 8-12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE, DULUTH COULD SEE 20 INCHES, SILVER BAY AND THE NORTH SHORE COULD SEE 30.

THE ROSEAU EAGLES AUXILIARY WILL BE SERVING A TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS DINNER ON CHRISTMAS DAY AT THE FOUR SEASONS CENTER FROM 11:00-1:00. THAT CAN BE DONE THROUGH DRIVE THROUGH, PICK UP OR DELIVERY. STATE AGENCIES ARE BEING CALLED IN TO INVESTIGATE DUST COMPLAINTS RELATED TO FARMERS GRAIN LLC GRAIN ELEVATORS IN THEIF RIVER FALLS. CITIZENS HAVE COMPLAINED OF EXCESS DUST POLLUTION. CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS SEEM TO AGREE, SAYING THEY WERE “SOLD ON THIS BEING DUST FREE.” THE COMPANY RECENTLY EXPANDED WITH FIVE NEW BINS AND NEW GRAIN DRYER. THEY ARE ALSO LOOKING INTO WHETHER OR NOT A CITY NUISANCE ORDINANCE COULD APPLY.
