ROSEAU’S GARY PRZEKWAS IS MAKING HEADLINES TODAY FOR HIS SUCCESSFUL ELK HUNT IN KITTSON COUNTY. HE SHOT THE BULL ELK YESTERDAY, AND AS OF TODAY IT HAD NOT BEEN MEASURED BY A CERTIFIED MEASURER. THE RACK WAS A NON-TYPICAL 10X11.

A RAILROAD CROSSING WAS CLOSED FOR A PORTION OF YESTERDAY IN GREENBUSH AFTER A TRAIN HAD STRUCK A SEMI-TRAILER. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED FOR THE INCIDENT AROUND 2:40 PM.

THE DRIVER WAS IMMEDIATELY LET GO BY THE COMPANY, AS IT IS THEIR POLICY TO DO A BUS WALKTHROUGH BEFORE LEAVING.

A WADENA WOMAN SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES WHEN HER CAR MADE CONTACT WITH A HORSE-BUGGY ALONG HIGHWAY 10 IN ALDRICH. THE BUGGY WAS GOING WEST, THE VEHICLE EAST. THE 26 YEAR OLD WAS FROM WADENA, WHILE THE THE OCCUPANTS OF THE BUGGY, AGED 18, 17, AND 17 WERE NOT INJURED. THEY WERE ALL FROM VERNDALE.

RUBY’S PANTRY WILL BEGIN MAKING A MONTHLY STOP IN ROSEAU, STARTING THIS MONTH. THEY ARE A POP-UP FOOD PANTRY THAT HAS NO INCOME LIMITS OR RESIDENCY RESTRICTIONS. THE FIRST ROSEAU STOP IS THIS THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 AND WILL CONTINUE ON THE 2ND THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT THE ROSEAU ELECTRIC PARKING LOT FROM 4:30-6:00 PM. THEY ARE MAKING A BAUDETTE STOP ALSO, ON THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT LOW BUS GARAGE.

GAS PRICES JUMPED IN THE REGION BY ROUGHLY 40 CENTS IN JUST ONE DAY RECENTLY, AND GASBUDDY SAYS IT COULD GO HIGHER. THEY POINTED TO A REFINERY THAT HAD AN UNEXPECTED OUTAGE AS THE REASON FOR THE JUMP.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold J. Forpahl will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Warroad at 1:00PM. Interment will happen at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Harold passed away at the age of 76.
