THE CN RAILROAD CROSSING ON COUNTY STATE HIGHWAY 74 (TAYLOR ROAD) WILL BE CLOSES AS OF 8:00 TOMORROW MORNING FOR CROSSING REPAIRS. THAT CLOSURE SHOULD LAST MOST OF THE DAY.

A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL FOR DARRELL S. ALIPOYO OF WARROAD WILL BE HELD FRIDAY (4 PM) AT ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH IN WARROAD. VISITATION WILL BE HELD THURSDAY (5-7) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN WARROAD. INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT FAIRVIEW CEMETERY IN ROSEAU.

MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR ROGER KOFSTAD OF WARROAD WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY (1 PM) AT ZION LUTTHERAN CHURCH IN WARROAD. VISITATION WILL BE THURSDAY (5-7) WITH A 7:00 PRAYER SERVICE AT THE CHURCH. MILITARY HONORS BY THE WARROAD AMERICAN LEGION. ROGER KOFSTAD WAS 80.

 

ROSEAU MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORE MANAGER LINDA ROSEBOROUGH IS LEAVING THAT POSITION THIS SUMMER.   THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL WILL ADVERTISE FOR A NEW MANAGER,  WITH THE INTENTION OF THAT PERSON WORKING WITH ROSEBOROUGH DURING A TRANSITION PROCESS.

ROSEAU IS ONE OF FIVE CITIES INVOLVED IN A LAWSUIT WITH THE MINNESOTA POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY OVER PHOSPHOROUS AT THE CITY LAGOONS.  ACCORDING TO A SETTLEMENT,  THE CITY MUST MAKE PROGRESS ON PHOSPHOROUS REDUCTIONS OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS.

 

TRACEE BRUGGEMAN,  FROM THE BRADY-MARTZ ACCOUNTING FIRM,  OFFERED THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL A  2020 AUDIT,  WHICH SHOWED A SIX MILLION,  FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR CASH BALANCE AT THE END OF THE YEAR.  ROSEAU’S CASH-IN-INVESTMENT FUND IS DOWN ABOUT THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM  2019.

ROSEAU CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT SEVEN-POINT-FOUR MILLION DOLLARS IN THE BANK.

 

ROSEAU’S OAK CREST GOLF COURSE IS OPEN FOR THE SEASON.  IT’S THE SECOND EARLIEST OPENING SINCE THE 1980’S.  THE EARLIEST IN THE PAST FOUR DECADES WAS A LATE MARCH OPENING IN 2012.

 

ROSEAU FIRE CHIEF CRAIG McMILLIN TOLD THE CITY COUNCIL THIS WEEK THAT HIS VOLUNTEER DEPARTMENT HAS RESPONDED TO ABOUT A DOZEN GRASS FIRES IN RECENT WEEKS;  SOME AT BELTRAMI ISLAND STATE FOREST.

CLEANUP WEEK IN THE CITY OF ROSEAU IS APRIL  12TH THROUGH THE 16TH.

 

THE ROSEAU EAGLES AUXILIARY WILL HOLD THEIR ANNUAL SOUP AND SALAD DAY ON THURSDAY APRIL 29TH IN TAKEOUT FASHION. ALL PROCEEDS HELP LOCAL CHARITIES.
