A FREE AGRICULTURAL WORKSHOP IS BEING OFFERED ON NOVEMBER 1 AT THE WARROAD PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING, FROM 8:30 AM TO 4:30 PM. IT WILL INCLUDE A TRIP TO THE BILL BENDICKSON FARM. THE WORKSHOP AIMS TO GROW CROPS MORE EFFICIENTLY, BROADEN THE HARVEST WINDOW, REDUCE INPUT NEEDS AND MORE.

MINNESOTA IS RECEIVING $97 MILLION IN SMALL BUSINESS FINANCING THROUGH THE STATE SMALL BUSINESS CREDIT INITIATIVE. THE FUND WILL CREATE LOAN OPPORTUNITIES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES LOOKING TO EXPAND, HELP WITH START-UPS, AND MORE.

A 12 YEAR OLD BOY HAS DIED OF A GUNSHOT WOUND SUFFERED WHILE HUNTING IN MOOSE LAKE TOWNSHIP, NORTH OF MOTLEY. THE INCIDENT HAPPENED SUNDAY WHILE THE BOY WAS WITH FAMILY MEMBERS HUNTING SQUIRRELS. HE WAS ACCIDENTALLY SHOT BY HIS 47 YEAR OLD UNCLE FROM ST PAUL.

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR ELAINE A. SKOGSTAD OF ROSEAU WILL BE HELD SATURDAY (3 PM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE AN HOUR PRIOR. INTERMENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT PINECREEK CEMETERY IN ROSS. ELAINE WAS 82.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR WENDY A. VON ENDE OF BADGER WILL BE HELD SATURDAY (11 AM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE AN HOUR PRIOR. WENDY WAS 55.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR MARY SHAUGABAY WILL BE HELD AT LAKE TOWN HALL IN WARROAD ON SATURDAY (4 PM).

DURING A LATE SEPTEMBER “CLICK IT, OR TICKET” CAMPAIGN, MINNESOTA AGENCIES ISSUED OVER 1100 SEATBELT CITATIONS. THAT CAMPAIGN COMES ON THE HEELS OF A DEADLY 2021 ON MINNESOTA ROADS. SO FAR THIS YEAR, UNBELTED MOTORIST DEATHS ARE DOWN 24% FROM THIS TIME LAST YEAR.
