Local:
The Dick Johnson Pee Wee A Tournament gets underway this morning. Roseau and Warroad both have games at 9 AM. They will both have a second game today at 5 PM.

Outside of that, all area schools appear to be in an e-learning day on account of the weather, so Friday evening sporting events won’t be happening.

Roseau boys hockey will host Elk River tomorrow afternoon.

NHL:
Kirill Kaprizov had the overtime game-winner as the Minnesota Wild defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-3. The Wild are two points ahead of Dallas for second in the division, but have played one more game than the Stars. They still trail Colorado by 10 points for first place, and the Avalanche have four extra games to be played.

NBA:
The Timberwolves were upended at home by Chicago, 120-115.

NFL:
The Baltimore Ravens are hiring Jesse Minter, the defensive coordinator with the LA Chargers, to be their next head coach.

Tennis:
American Coco Gauff is through to round four of the Australian Open, although she needed three sets to do so after losing her opening set. American Iva Jovic pulled off an upset of number seven Jasmine Paolini.

Top seeds Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, along with American Taylor Fritz, are all winners from yesterday.

MLB:
The Minnesota Twins have signed relief pitcher Taylor Rogers to a one-year deal worth $2 million. He was previously with the Twins early in his career.
