With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved dad, grandfather, brother, and friend, Vangnay Xaysouliene, who passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by the people who loved him most.

Born on May 5, 1956, in Chomphone, Savannakhet, Laos, he was the eldest of four siblings. A survivor of the Vietnam War, he carried incredible strength and resilience throughout his life. His journey was not an easy one, but he faced every challenge with determination, humor, and an unwavering love for his family.

Dad lived life on his own terms. He was carefree, and impossible to rush. He always had advice to share, whether you wanted it or not, and somehow every conversation became a life lesson. His message was always the same. Follow your heart, work hard, enjoy life, and above all, be a good person.

He loved returning to Laos whenever he could, spending months visiting his siblings and his eldest daughter, a relationship he treasured deeply.

He kept us laughing without even trying, and there was never a dull moment with him. He once nailed a carpet over the back door just to keep the cold winter draft from coming in. It was one of those perfectly “Dad” solutions—practical, resourceful, and completely unconcerned with what anyone else thought. It still makes us laugh.

Above all else, he loved his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than having everyone together. Those moments meant everything to him.

He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Euy Viet, Satyna, and Karmy, his beloved grandchildren, his siblings, extended family, and many dear friends.

We will miss your stories, your advice, your laughter, and your wonderfully unique way of doing just about everything. We promise to keep sharing your stories for generations to come so that a part of you will always live on. Dad, thank you for every lesson, every laugh, every sacrifice, and every act of unconditional love. Because of you, we are strong, hardworking, compassionate, and proud of where we come from.

We love you always. Until we meet again.
