A Memorial service for Elaine M. Billberg of Wannaska, MN will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Lutheran Church in Wannaska, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Riverside Lutheran Church in Wannaska, MN and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date.

Elaine MaryAnn Billberg passed away on January 24th, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Elaine was born to Edith (Dahl) and Ellert Nelson on May 28th, 1948 in Wannaska, MN.

She attended Wannaska Elementary until 8th grade and then graduated from Roseau High School. Elaine was a farm wife and worked at Polaris until the early 90’s. Elaine followed her dream and attended Northland Community College and became a Registered Nurse. She worked at LifeCare Medical Center until her retirement. Elaine married the love of her life Dale Billberg on October 29th, 1966.

Elaine’s faith came first, she was an active member of the Riverside Lutheran Church, where she served on several committees, volunteered as a quilter, Sunday School teacher, President of the Riverside Women’s Group,and was the Wannaska Lutheran Parish Nurse for years. Elaine was also a hospice volunteer, Caring Campaign volunteer and 4-H leader.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Dale of Wannaska; daughter, Heidi (Bill) Petersen of Wannaska; sons, Chad Billberg, Rusty (Megan) Billberg, and Jay Billberg all of Wannaska; Grandchildren, Matt (Amy) Petersen of Fargo ND, Ryan (Amy) Petersen of Buffalo MN, Katie (Mike) Brobst of Grygla, Sadie Peteresn, Torie Petersen, Christian Loken and Callie Loken all of Wannaska; Great Grandchildren, Rose, William, Richard, Chase, Braxton and Tilden: sister, Thora (Stuart) Halvorson of Roseau; nephews and niece and great nephews, Tracy, Tyrone, Tara, Hawken and Noah.

Preceded in death by her parents; Ellert and Edith Nelson, Father and Mother-in-law; Paul and Clarice Billberg, and Brother-in-law Trygve Abrahamson.
