A GRAND FORKS WOMAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO 48 MONTHS FOR A SECOND-DEGREE DRUG SALE IN A PROHIBITED ZONE IN POLK COUNTY, MINNESOTA. 44-YEAR OLD STEPHANIE ANITRA HAGEMAN PURCHASED FENTANYL FOR PERSONAL USE AND THEN ON MULTIPLE OCASSIONS SOLD SOME TO ANOTHER WOMAN, WHO EVENTUALLY DIED IN AN OVERDOSE. AS PART OF THE AGREEMENT, A THIRD-DEGREE MURDER CHARGE WAS DISMISSED.

THE BODY OF A MISSING PILOT WAS RECOVERED FROM LAKE SUPERIOR YESTERDAY, SIX DAYS AFTER HE WAS LAST SEEN FLYING HIS ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT. DENNY PECHACEK’S BODY WAS FOUND AFTER ABOUT A THREE HOUR SEARCH, AFTER A HELMET WAS FOUND THAT HAD WASHED ASHORE. THIS OCCURRED NEAR HOVLAND, MN, ALONG THE NORTH SHORE OF LAKE SUPERIOR, BETWEEN GRAND MARAIS AND THE CANADIAN BORDER.

AN IRON RANGE WOMAN HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF BURNING DOWN HER FATHER’S HOME NEAR VIRGINIA. 33-YEAR OLD ERICA ANN ALLEN WAS CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE ARSON AND THREATS OF VIOLENCE. THE FATHER SAYS SHE HAS BEEN DEALING WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. DEPUTIES WERE FIRST DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE WHEN SHE HAD CALLED 911 TO SAY THAT THE FATHER WAS POINTING A GUN AT HER, AND SHE WAS VERBALLY ABUSIVE TO THE DISPATCHERS. THEY BELIEVE THE CLAIM OF A GUN THREAT IS FALSE.

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR LILA GRANDSTAND WILL BE HELD AT SALEM LUTHERAN CHURCH IN RURAL STEPHEN, THIS MORNING AT 10:30 AM. THERE IS VISITATION AN HOUR PRIOR. INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT SALEM LUTHERAN CEMETERY. LILA GRANDSTAND WAS 94.
