AUTHORITIES WERE AT GRAND FORKS RED RIVER HIGH SCHOOL YESTERDAY AFTER AN ACTIVE SHOOTER CALL BUT ARE SAYING THAT ANY THREAT APPEARS TO BE UNFOUNDED. THE CALL WAS RECEIVED AT 10:30 IN THE MORNING. AS THEY DAY PROGRESSED CALLS WERE ALSO RECEIVED AT JAMESTOWN HIGH SCHOOL, FARGO SCHOOLS AND A TOTAL OF AT LEAST 7 TOTAL THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

A BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER AND AWARENESS EVENT WILL BE HELD AT RIVERVIEW OUTDOOR AND RECREATION (ROAR) IN ROSEAU ON OCTOBER 27TH. THEY’LL UTILIZE THEIR NEW AX THROWING ATTRACTION TO HOST A TOURNAMENT. A TWO PERSON TEAM CAN SIGN UP FOR A COST OF $75 THAT ALSO INCLUDES THE EVENT T-SHIRT.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR ROSE MARIE BERGERSON OF THIEF RIVER FALLS WILL BE HELD SATURDAY (NOON) AT OUR SAVIOR’S LUTHERAN CHURCH IN THIEF RIVER FALLS. VISITATION WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 4-6 PM ON FRIDAY, ALSO AT THE CHURCH, AND WILL ALSO BE ONE HOUR PRIOR ON SATURDAY. ROSE MARIE WAS 86.

Minnesota’s youth deer season will take place statewide Thursday, Oct. 20, through Sunday, Oct. 23,
To participate, young hunters must be 10 to 17 years old and have a deer license. Participant numbers are not limited and there is no special permit, so parents should purchase or obtain a regular deer hunting license for the youth who will be hunting.
