DATES OF HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION ARE COMING FOR THOSE IN ROSEAU COUNTY. A DATE FOR WARROAD IS AUGUST 31, ROSEAU SEPTEMBER 7 AND BADGER AND GREENBUSH ON SEPTEMBER 8. ITEMS CAN BE BROUGHT TO THE WARROAD CITY SHOP, THE ROSEAU COUNTY HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE FACILITY, THE BADGER COUNTY SHOP AND GREENBUSH COUNTY SHOP.

A MESSAGE FROM THE ROSEAU COUNTY TREASURER REMINDS EVERYONE THAT FIRST HALF TAXES ON ALL MOBILE HOMES ARE DUE BY AUGUST 31.

THE RED LAKE NATION SAYS THEY ARE WORKING ON A MOBILE MARIJUANA DISPENSARY THAT WOULD RESEMBLE A FOOD TRUCK. THEY SAID IT WILL ALLOW THEM TO EXPAND THEIR SERVICE INTO OTHER MARKETS, BUT THAT THE TRUCK WILL NOT LEAVE TRIBAL LAND. A TRIBAL LEADER SAYS SO FAR THE DISPENSARY IN RED LAKE IS SEEING ABOUT 300 CUSTOMERS PER DAY. THE STORY IN THE GRAND FORKS HERALD ALSO MENTIONS THAT RED LAKE NATION HAS PLANS TO OPEN DISPENSARIES SOON NEAR THEIR CASINOS IN WARROAD AND THIEF RIVER FALLS.

THE ROSEAU AREA FOOD SHELF WILL HOST AN OPEN HOUSE ON WEDNESDAY EVENING TO COME AND SEE THEIR REMODELED SPACE.

A Funeral Service for Lois E. Markstrom of Thief River Falls, MN and formerly of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Moe Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Malung Cemetery.
Lois passed away at the age of 96.

Funeral Service for Florence M. Haukaas of Baudette, MN will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 12:00PM at Pitt Community Church in Pitt. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 5-7PM with a prayer service starting at 6PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be held at Pitt Cemetery.
Florence passed away at the age of 98.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Wesolowski of Warroad will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Warroad with a visitation an hour prior.

A 4TH STATE VETERAN’S CEMETERY WAS DEDICATED OVER THE WEEKEND IN REDWOOD FALLS. IT JOINS OTHERS IN LITTLE FALLS, PRESTON, AND DULUTH. ROUGHLY 500 WERE IN ATTENDANCE WITH BOTH GOVERNOR WALZ AND SENATOR KLOBUCHAR SERVING AS GUEST SPEAKERS.
