THERE WILL BE A FALL SPORTS MEETING ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 8TH AT 6 PM IN THE ROSEAU SCHOOL THEATER FOR ANYONE ENTERING GRADES 7-12 WHO WOULD PLAN TO PARTICIPATE IN A SPORT. AUGUST 14 IS THE FIRST OFFICIAL DAY OF VARSITY LEVEL ACTIVITY.

WITH A PROJECT THAT BEGINS MONDAY, THE ROSEAU COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT SAYS THAT HIGHWAY 13 SOUTH OF SALOL WILL BE CLOSED FROM HIGHWAY 2 TO COUNTY ROAD 132. THEY EXPECT THAT TO BE A TWO-DAY CLOSURE.

15 PIECES OF ORIGINAL ARTWORK BY LOCAL AND REGIONAL ARTISTS IS ON DISPLAY AT THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY UNTIL AUGUST 29. THAT IS PART OF A TRAVELING ART EXHIBIT.

THE WARROAD HOCKEY TEAM AND COMMUNITY ARE MOURNING THE LOSS OF BOYS HOCKEY COACH MICHAEL TVEIT, WHO DIED IN HIS SLEEP ON JULY 21. FORMER TEAMMATE ON A WARRIOR STATE TITLE TEAM, TJ OSHIE, HAS STARTED A GO FUND ME PAGE FOR THE FAMILY.

AMERICAN CRYSTAL SUGAR FACILITIES IN CROOKSTON AND EAST GRAND FORKS HAVE BEEN FINED FOR WATER QUALITY VIOLATIONS FOR INSPECTIONS DONE IN 2022. THEIR WASTEWATER DISCHARGED INTO THE RED LAKE RIVER AND RED RIVER OF THE NORTH WERE WAS FOUND TO EXCEED THE PERMITTED NUMBER OF POLLUTATNS, AND THEY WERE FINED A TOTAL OF $26,000. THE STORY NOTES THE COMPANY HAS PAID THOSE FINES AND COMPLETED CORRECTIVE ACTIONS.
