A Cass Lake man has been found guilty of third-degree murder in the drug-related death of a woman that took place in January 2022. A Beltrami County jury found Clyde Lee Reyes, Jr. guilty of a single count of third-degree murder for selling, giving and/or distributing a controlled substance — schedules I and II. Authorities were called to investigate an unresponsive woman on January 2, 2022, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. They had learned that the man had sold the woman fentanyl earlier that day.

DNR conservation officer reports for the week mention a large over-limit case on Lake of the Woods where five non-resident anglers were in possession of 60 total walleye.
