SEVERAL AGENCIES RESPONDED YESTERDAY MORNING, INCLUDING THE US BORDER PATROL, TO A REPORT OF NINE INDIVIDUALS SUFFERING FROM EXPOSURE TO HARSH WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THE LOST RIVER STATE FOREST, BETWEEN ROSEAU AND WARROAD. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SEVEN OF THOSE NINE HAD CROSSED BY BORDER ILLEGALLY AND DIDN’T HAVE ANY LEGAL DOCUMENTATION PERMITTING THEIR PRESENCE IN THE U.S. THEY WERE TRANSPORTED AND TREATED AT LOCAL MEDICAL FACILITIES AND THEN BACK TO A US BORDER PATROL STATION. THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.

PART OF HIS PROBATION IS NO USE OR POSSESSION OF FIREARMS, AMMUNITION OR EXPLOSIVES.

THE MINNESOTA DNR HAS SET A FIVE-WALLEYE LIMIT FOR THE SUMMER ON UPPER RED LAKE. ANGLERS WERE ONLY ALLOWED THREE WALLEYE DURING THE WINTER SEASON, AND LAST YEARS SUMMER SEASON LIMIT WAS SET AT FOUR.
