Oscar Edward Maus was born on September 12. 1927 in Montevideo Mn. to August and Agnes Maus. He was the 10th out of 15 siblings. Graduated out of 8th grade and then stayed home to help his Dad on the farm. He joined the Army in 1948 and was in the 82 Airborne. He was discharged in 1952. On Julv 26.1952 he married Marlene Johnson at the Wabanica Luthern Church. They moved to Orr, Mn. where he and his dad raised cattle. Their first child Bradley was born. Their next move was to Anaconda, Montana. He worked at the Smelter Mining Co. for a short time. They then moved to Coquille. Oregon where he worked for Georgia Pacific and then ai International Harvester as a mechanic. There they had two more children. Shelley and Todd. After 11 vears in Oregon they moved back to Baudette. They bought the Alvin Johnson place which was owned by Jasper Nelson at the time. Their 4th child Heidi was born Oscar worked for Marvin Nelson in Williams as a mechanic. During the summers he worked as a mechanic for Hodgeman road construction. He did that for 8 years. Bradley and he decided to buy a skidder and worked for Gerald Erickson. They decided to go on their own. He and his 2 sons, Bradley and Todd and son-in-law Tom Olson started logging. Later starting up a sawmill which eventually became Maus Sales. Marlene died July 16,2003. After that he went to the Pitt Church where he met Norma. They were married November 12, 2003. They were together for 20 vears and she spoiled him rotten. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her “Precious”. Oscar has 1 surviving brother, Arnie and his wife Pugs.He is preceded in death by Marlene and son Todd. Oscar was an excellent mechanic and loved his iob, family and the Lord.

A Memorial Service for Oscar Maus will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 2:00PM at Wabanica Lutheran Church in Baudette, MN. Interment will take place at Wabanica Cemetery.
