A Celebration of Life for Robert Yates of Badger will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau at 2:00pm. Interment will be held later in the spring at Badger City Cemetery.

Robert William Yates passed away peacefully on February 24th, 2023 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 72.

Bob was born on July 9th, 1950 in Roseau, MN to Mildred (Armstrong) and William David Yates. He attended the Badger School and graduated in 1969. After high school Bob attended vocational school in Thief River Falls before enlisting in the U.S. Army. There he served a 2 year deployment in Germany.

Bob was united in marriage on September 14th, 1974 to Marsha Glennen. They resided in Badger MN where they raised their family.

Bob worked several jobs before he began his career at Marvin Windows, where he retired in 2020 after 35 years.

Bob enjoyed spending his time with his family, especially his Grandchildren. Bob had many hobbies including playing pool & cards, visiting with friends, collecting antiques, and his pup, Bennie. When travelling, Bob never passed up a visit to an antique shop, flea market, or garage sale. Bob enjoyed attending Shady Hollow Flea Market where he sold and displayed his license plate art.

Bob is survived by his wife Marsha, his sons Brian (Karissa) Yates of Perham, MN, and William (Megan) Yates of West Fargo, ND; Grandchildren Morgan Yates (Noah), Kiara Yates, and Cash Yates; Brother in law Jim (Rae) Glennen, and Harvey Tauer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Siblings Bonnie, Peggy, Joylee, and Jeanie; Brother in laws Jr. Castle, Dennis Haaby, Gary Glennen, Richard Glennen, and David Glennen; Sister in law Gail Glennen; Mother and Father in law Clifford and Eileen Glennen; Niece Ellen Smith.
