THE TWINS WERE BLOWN OUT YESTERDAY IN KANSAS CITY, BUT THE TWINS DID TAKE TWO OUT OF THE THREE GAMES IN THEIR SEASON OPENING SERIES. THEY BEGIN A SERIES IN MILWAUKEE TOMORROW.

NBA:

THE TIMBERWOLVES LOST AT HOME TO CHICAGO LAST NIGHT, AND IT LEAVES THEM A GAME BEHIND OKLAHOMA CITY IN THE WEST STANDINGS. DENVER IS SANDWICHED IN BETWEEN THE TWO.

NHL:

MINNESOTA LOST TO VEGAS IN OT ON SATURDAY, EARNING NO POINTS, AFTER THEY HAD DECIDED TO PULL THE GOALIE AND PLAY 4-ON-3. VEGAS MOVED PAST LA FOR THIRD PLACE IN THEIR DIVISION AND THE KINGS ARE NOW THE LAST TEAM IN THE PLAYOFF POSITION.

NCAA HOCKEY:

NORTH DAKOTA AND MINNESOTA WERE BOTH ELIMINATED FROM THE TOURNAMENT FIELD OVER THE WEEKEND. THE FROZEN FOUR IN ST PAUL WILL HAVE BOSTON, BOSTON COLLEGE, MICHIGAN, AND DENVER COMPETING.

NCAA BASKETBALL:

#11 SEED NC STATE TOOK OUT DUKE AND HAS REACHED THE FINAL FOUR. THEY ARE JOINED BY #1 SEEDS UCONN AND PURDUE AND ALSO #4 SEED ALABAMA.
